Step 1 — Check the box
Check your order. Your connection method determines what is in the box.
| Connection method | What's in the box |
|---|---|
| A) Mobile router + SIM | Cameras + junction boxes, PoE switch, Teltonika router + power cable + short network cable, SIM card |
| B) Mobile router + existing internet | Cameras + junction boxes, PoE switch, Teltonika router + power cable + short network cable |
| C) Existing router | Cameras + junction boxes, PoE switch |
Step 2 — Mount the cameras
⚠️ You have received a 3D drawing. Follow it exactly. The drawing has been approved with the customer and specifies the exact position, angle, and field of view for each camera. Do not deviate from it without contacting Indivd first.
Before drilling, check all four things below.
| What to check | ✅ Do this | ❌ Not this |
|---|---|---|
| Angle | 20°–60°, angled towards the measurement line | Under 30° or horizontal — people will block each other |
| Height | At least 80% of ceiling height from the measurement line 2.5 m ceiling → min 2 m 4 m ceiling → min 3.2 m |
Too low — people block each other |
| Field of view | Clear, unobstructed view matching the 3D drawing | Blocked by shelves, pillars, lights, signs, hanging decorations |
| Position | Wall or ceiling mount at an angle per the 3D drawing | ⛔ Directly overhead pointing straight down — this is NOT a top-down counter |
Obstacles: The 3D drawing accounts for known obstacles, but check on site for anything not in the drawing: ceiling lights, pillars, drapes, signs, hanging decorations. Ask staff if anything moves or changes during the day.
If you cannot avoid an obstacle by repositioning, lower the camera using a pole mount — or contact Indivd before proceeding.
Example: field of view blocked by hanging lamps
How to read the 3D drawing
| Page in the drawing | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Site plan | All camera locations across the premises. Numbers are for reference only — no specific installation order required. |
| Camera pages (top view) | Exact position and perspective for each camera |
| Camera pages (field of view) | What the camera should capture when correctly installed |
| Total overview | Summary of all cameras and their specs for quick reference |
✅ Good
- Correct angle and height per the 3D drawing
- Clear, unobstructed field of view
❌ Bad
- Field of view blocked by shelves, pillars, or signs
- Does not match the 3D drawing
Step 3 — Connect
Use the method that matches your order (A, B, or C).
A) Mobile router + SIM
Router is pre-configured. No extra setup needed.
- Camera → PoE switch (network cable)
- PoE switch → Teltonika router (network cable)
- Power → switch and router
- Place router near entrance or a window. Check signal with your phone first.
B) Mobile router + existing internet
Router is pre-configured. Test the outlet before starting.
- Plug a laptop into the outlet, turn WiFi off, confirm internet works
- Camera → PoE switch (network cable)
- PoE switch → Teltonika router (network cable)
- Teltonika router → internet outlet (network cable)
- Power → switch and router
C) Existing router
VPN must be set up by the customer's IT team first. Settings: VPN tunnel setup.
- Plug a laptop into the outlet, confirm internet works
- Camera → PoE switch (network cable)
- PoE switch → existing router or switch

⚠️ Before finishing: CCTV mode on the switch must be OFF. If it is ON, the video will drop out.
Step 4 — Check the camera angle
Note: Installing Provision cameras? Use this guide instead.
Pick one:
- Log in to the VMS
- Access the camera via a web browser
- Provision Cam 2 app (App Store / Google Play) → log in → adjust angle to match the 3D drawing
Step 5 — Send photos and wait for confirmation
Do not leave until you get confirmation from Indivd.
- Take a photo of each camera's view
- Send to Indivd:
- 📧 onboarding@indivd.com
- 💬 SMS: +46 73 840 65 27
- Wait for confirmation. Then you are done. ✅
