Wireguard is an excellent alternative to IPSec VPN, offering a simpler setup process and reliable performance, even behind firewalls or without a public IP address. The steps outlined below are demonstrated using a router with an Omada controller interface, but the process should be similar across different routers. Contact support@indivd.com if you need additional guidance for other routers such as Teltonika or pfSense.
1. Access the Admin Panel
Log in to your firewall/router's admin panel. On an Omada controller, navigate to the Settings section.
2. Navigate to Wireguard VPN Settings
Locate and open the Wireguard VPN settings within your router's interface.
3. Create a New Wireguard Interface
Create a new Wireguard interface. You can choose any local IP address, but ensure it doesn't conflict with other network settings on your end. If a conflict arises with Indivd's settings, contact support@indivd.com and we'll provide guidance on how to resolve it.
4. Make a Note of the Key Information
Make note of the selected IP address and the generated public key.
You'll need to send the following details to Indivd:
- Your Wireguard IP address (e.g., 10.6.0.1).
- Your public key.
- Camera network + mask (e.g., 192.168.10.0/24).
5. Create a Peer for Indivd
Set up a peer using the following Indivd settings:
- Indivd VPN Server IP: 147.189.194.218 (wireguard.indivd.com)
- Indivd Public Key: QhaIYJhI0Qm3lWS3RUuvoE+K7PG4N2tWff2o24mVzk8=
- Allowed Addresses: 10.8.0.1/32, 192.168.40.1/32
6. Test the VPN Tunnel (Optional)
After completing the setup on both ends and once Indivd has confirmed the configuration, you should be able to reach the IP address 10.8.0.1. This can be verified by using the ping command, for example.
