Your physical space generates visitor data every hour of every day. Most of it goes unmeasured. Indivd turns your existing camera infrastructure into a zone-level analytics layer, giving you the same visibility into your physical space that web analytics gives you online. Stores use it to optimize visual merchandising, staffing, and marketing performance. Malls use it to track cross-visitation and strengthen the destination. Airports use it to measure qualification rate to commercial areas, one of the most direct levers on retail and F&B revenue.
To get started, we map your existing cameras against the zones you want to measure. The better the picture you share with us upfront, the more precisely we can set up your analytics.
What to share with us
Before we can produce your zone mapping, please share the following:
- A scaled floor plan. This is the foundation for accurate zone mapping. Without scale, we cannot reliably place coverage areas.
- Your zones marked on the floor plan. Mark the specific areas you want to measure, such as product categories, store entrances, food courts, or gate areas. The more precisely these are defined, the more granular your insights will be.
- Existing camera positions. A map or list showing where cameras are currently installed. We always try to work with what you already have.
- Camera snapshots. Images from each camera help us assess coverage quality for each zone.
- Ceiling height. This affects how much area each camera can cover.
- Number of floors. We produce a separate mapping for each floor.
Tip: The zones you define here directly determine what you can measure. If you want to compare performance between specific areas, for example a promotional zone versus a core product area, make sure those are marked as separate zones.
Understanding your mapping results
Once we have reviewed your materials, we will send you a drawing showing how each zone can be covered by your existing cameras. Each camera and zone line is marked with a color that tells you its data readiness status.
Camera status
| Color | What it means |
|---|---|
| Green | Ready to go. This camera can start delivering data for its zone immediately. |
| Yellow | Minor adjustment needed. A small repositioning will unlock full data coverage for this zone. |
| Orange | Relocation needed. This camera needs to be moved to cover the zone correctly. We will align on next steps with you. |
| Red | Not used in this setup. This camera does not contribute to any of your defined zones. |
| Blue | New camera required. No existing camera can cover this zone. Adding one will unlock insights for this area. |
Zone line status
| Color | What it means |
|---|---|
| Green | Fully covered. This zone is ready to track visitor flow and generate insights. |
| Yellow | Partially covered. Data is available but may be incomplete until a camera adjustment is made. |
Any questions about your results? If a zone is flagged as partially covered or requires a new camera, we will reach out to walk through the options and agree on next steps together.
